Plants medium-sized, green or jade green, in tufts. Stems erect, ca. 2–4 cm high, branched at top of stems, densely foliate. Leaves slightly squarrose, triangular-lanceolate, flat; margins plane, serrulate above, entire below; costae straight or curved, ending below the apex; upper leaf cells long-rhomboidal; median cells rectangular or shortly rectangular, with papillae at upper cell ends; basal cells quadrate or rounded-hexagonal, hyaline. Autoicous. Setae ca. 1.5–2.0 cm long; capsules erect, ovoid, furrowed when dry, reddish brown. Spores not seen.
