Leaves ± deciduous, obovate or elliptic-oblong, apex shortly and rather abruptly acuminate, base cuneate to rounded, membranaceous to thin chartaceous, finely and regularly serrate to serrulate, silky to subpatently hairy on both sides especially on the midrib when young, glabrescent except the midrib above, and midrib and nerves beneath with age, (4–)6–9(–16) cm. long, (1.5–)2.5–6 cm. broad; lateral nerves 8–9 pairs, raised beneath only, reticulation rather obscure; petioles 1–1.3 cm. long; stipules lanceolate, ± 5 mm. long, 1–2 mm. broad, caducous.
Leaf-lamina obovate-oblong, 2.5–8.0 x 1.2–3 cm., apex acuminate, cuneate or rounded at the base, margin finely and regularly serrulate, silky hairy on both sides on the midrib, nerves and veins but less so above; petiole up to 1 cm. long.
