Morphology

Perennial shrubby herb up to 40 cm high. Leaf-blade deeply palmately-lobed, 1.5-6.3 cm long, 1.5-6 cm wide, subchartaceous, pubescent; petiole 1.5-3 cm long, pubescent. Flowers 1 or more (of one or both sexes) together, shortly pedicellate. Male flowers: Sepals linear to narrowly elliptic, 1.8-3 mm long, 0.5-0.75 mm wide, somewhat recurved, pubescent. Corolla-tube 3-4 mm long; lobes triangular, 2-2.2 mm long. Glands ovate, 1 mm long, 0.75 mm wide. Stamens with filaments 0.5-1.2 mm long; anthers 1-1.5 mm long, glandular. Female flowers: Sepals elliptic, 2-3.5 mm long, 1.5 mm wide. Corolla-tube 4-5.5 mm long, lobes ovate, 3 mm long, 3-4 mm wide. Glands ovate, c. 1 mm long, pubescent. Ovary subsessile or with stalk 1 mm long, ellipsoid, 2-2.5 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide; style terete, 2 mm long, lobes 1 mm long, with flabelliform stigmas. Fruit ellipsoid, 8-10 mm long, 5-8 mm wide, pubescent. Seed subglobose, 3 mm diam., reticulate.
