Plants stout, 1–2 m tall, hispidulous throughout. Root cylindrical. Stem solitary, branched. Basal and lower petioles 10–30 cm; leaf blade ternate or ternate-pinnate; leaflets 3–5, broadly ovate, 10–20 × 7–18 cm, 3–5-lobed, margin sharply serrate. Upper leaves sessile on expanded sheaths. Peduncles 4–15 cm; bracts few, linear-lanceolate, or caducous; rays 12–30, unequal; bracteoles 5–10, lanceolate; flowers more than 20 per umbellule. Calyx teeth obsolete. Petals white, on outer flowers of umbels radiant, enlarged, ca. 7 mm. Fruit obovoid, 6–8 × 5–7 mm, sparsely hispidulous or almost glabrous; dorsal ribs filiform, lateral ribs broadly winged, wings less than width of mericarp body; vittae solitary in each furrow, 2 on commissure, clavate, extending to 1/2 length of mericarp.
