Plants perennial, not cespitose, 0.4-1.5 dm; roots unknown. Stems erect, sparsely pilose. Leaves: petiole 0.4-1.4 cm; blade green, elliptic, 2.3-3.5 × 0.7-1 cm, apex acute, pilose. Inflorescences: heads white, subglobose, 7-11 mm diam., not subtended by 2 leaves; bractlets white, slightly ridged abaxially, not crested. Flowers: tube glabrous; perianth lobes white, lanceolate, 3.2 mm, chartaceous, margins entire, apex acuminate. Utricles not seen. Seeds not seen.
Prostrate or sprawling to ascending herb, to at least 50 cm., branched from the base upwards; stem and branches feebly striate, more or less densely furnished in the upper parts with upwardly appressed, rather long white hairs, becoming glabrescent with age.
Leaves ovate to oblong-ovate, elliptic or subspathulate, lamina of the larger leaves c. 2–10 × 1–5 cm. (reducing above on both stem and branches), acute to rather blunt at the apex, cuneate or attenuate to a distinct petiole c. 0.5–3.5 cm. long, subglabrous or with scattered hairs on the superior surface, with appressed hairs chiefly along the primary venation below.
Inflorescences of mostly c. 4 agglomerated clusters forming a head c. 1–2.5 × 0.5–3 cm., frequently broader than long, subtended by 4–5 unequal leaves, on a slender appressed-pilose peduncle c.1.5–5.5 cm. long; bracts small, delicate and hyaline, c.1.5–2 mm. long, deltoid-ovate, shortly aristate; bracteoles concave, c. 4.5–5 mm. long, deltoid-ovate with a short mucro formed by the excurrent nerve, firm and yellowish above, hyaline towards the base, with no dorsal crest.
Tepals 4–5 mm. long; outer 2 linear-oblong, rather abruptly narrowed to the slightly denticulate, mucronate apex, 1-nerved, the firm central part near the base finely striate and more or less tomentose; inner 3 progressively slightly shorter, narrower and more narrowly pointed; all very indurate at the base in fruit.
Staminal tube c. 3 mm. long, divided to c. half way, with only a short blunt tooth or knob on each side of the antheriferous tooth.
Ovary at anthesis c. 1.5 mm. long; style very short, stigmas filiform.
Capsule shortly ellipsoid, c. 1.5 mm. long.
