Inflorescences subterminal, 4–12 cm long, shorter or sometimes much shorter than subtending leaf; cymes 1–2(–6)-flowered; peduncle ± 1 cm long; pedicels 5–6 mm long, enlarging to 13 mm in fruit.
Sepals 6–8 mm long, 2.5–3 mm wide.
Petals bright yellow, 5–8 mm long, 2.5–4 mm wide.
Drupelets black, ellipsoid, 7 mm long, 5 mm wide.
Shrub or small tree 1.5–12 m tall.
Leaves fairly thin to distinctly subcoriaceous, mostly oblong or oblong-elliptic, less often elliptic-oblanceolate or narrowly elliptic, 3.5–15.5 cm long, 1–6.4 cm wide, acute or acuminate at the apex, narrowly cuneate at the base, serrate or often almost entire; lateral veins ± 9, ascending, in depressions above but actual vein prominent, more prominent beneath; secondary veins numerous, ± parallel and at right-angles to midrib and tertiary reticulate venation between; petiole ± 4(–6) mm long; stipules 3 mm long, striate, aristate, soon deciduous.
