    Tepals described as pink, red, reddish yellow or purple, at least sometimes paler at the edges, ± shining when dry; outer 3 tepals broadly ovate or ± semicircular, 2 mm. long, 3 mm. wide; inner 11–12(–14), ovate, round or oblong, (1–)2.5–3.5 mm. long, 1.5–2.5 mm. wide, rounded at apex, in 2 whorls, the inner with thickened bases fitting into sinuses of disk.
