Umbels of (2–)4–7 slender rays 1.5–2.5 cm. long; involucre absent; partial umbels 4–8(–10)-flowered; pedicels 2–7 mm. long; involucel absent; peduncles slender, 1.5–6 cm.
Petals white, broadly obcordate, 1.5 mm., distincdy emarginate, glabrous.
Fruit shortly ellipsoid to subglobose, 2–2.5 mm., blackish when ripe with green ribs, glabrous; stylopodia shortly conical, the disk with an undulate margin; styles short and rather thick, divergent or deflexed, scarcely exceeding the width of the disk.
Slender glabrous perennial herb, 55–70 cm., with a swollen tuberous root ± 2.5 cm. in diameter.
Leaves principally basal, the lamina finely denticulate, usually narrowly lanceolate-elliptic or oblong, 6–11 × 1–3 cm., rarely almost round, 4–7 × 3–6.5 cm., with the principal veins originating from the base or a little above, usually gradually but rarely abruptly narrowed into a distinct or obscure petiole 1.5–15 cm. long; cauline leaves below the inflorescence 1–2, very narrow, denticulate or rarely pinnate with short narrow segments, sheaths long; inflorescence leaves much reduced, trisect or pinnate with short, very narrow segments.
