Morphology

Tree 6–18 m. high, with umbrella-shaped crown; bark smooth, grey, with the outer surface peeling off and papery.

    Leaves with (1–, fide Roti-Michelozzi)2–5 pairs of pinnae; leaflets (4–)6–15 pairs, elliptic-oblong, 1–3.5 cm. long, 0.45–2 cm. wide, rounded at apex, minutely appressed-puberulous on both surfaces.

    Petals: the upper one 4.2–5.5 cm. long, 1.8–2.2 cm. wide, oblanceolate or obovate, bright yellow; the lateral and lower ones ± 2.8–3.5 cm. long and 1.5–2.2 cm. wide, with a more rounded or somewhat rhombic lamina, white; all, especially the upper one, ± distinctly tapering and pointed at apex.
