DescriptionThere are over 1400 species of vascular plants in the flora of the Lucayan Archipelago. The Lucayan Archipelago includes both The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands as a natural floristic unit. This flora includes native species as well as the invasive, naturalized, horticultural, and the agricultural plants. The Levy Preserve/Bahamas National Trust is working to fulfill Target 1 of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation which calls for each nation to have an online flora. The current online flora has over 560 species (~40 % of the flora) with descriptions and pictures.
